Hello everyone!

This space will entirely devote to expressing thoughts, so that the author is pleading for your indulgence and perseverance to treat all the information that you shall read and know as confidential. Treat it as if you have listened to friends who truly need confidant ears. You may be wondering how we can consider it as part of communication process, when only the side of the writer will be read or heard. Yes, it is, simply because reading thoughtfully or listening intently is still part of good communication.

Wow, that sounds different! Could you imagine applying confidentiality about subject matters you publish in the net? You could be pulling our legs. This seems absurd. Aha, you mean the other way around. It’s the writer’s way of stating his thoughts.

This blog is a simple form of therapy for its writer and maybe for you too. Expressing thoughts and feelings toward certain issues could somehow lighten ones load and for those with the same situations some sympathetic harmony could be attained. It is just like saying you may be right but please allow me to say my piece. The different views on particular issues will surely produce opposing opinions and that is what freedom of expression guarantees us. But here, we shall limit each other to just expressing opinions and shall allow contradicting ones to be expressed too without getting into the lengthy arguments. In other words, we must always have civil letting out but not brutal getting on.

The readers may write dissenting opinions about particular subject matters discussed here but less likely should we expect rebuttal from the writers. In other words, we shall treat your opinions as matured statement of your thoughts. It will add up to the opinions expressed here and will allow you too, to let your thoughts out and probably relieve your mind somehow. But if in your commentary you employ humor on very delicate and serious subjects, we shall applaud you graciously. Cheers for making all our days brighter and more positive.

Always remember that there is no wrong opinion but rather valid opinions expressed at wrong situations and conditions. Let’s practice that.

Let Us Emulate the Good Characteristics

In the midst of devastation and chaos that the earthquake in Japan brought about, there are few characteristics that the citizens of the world especially in the third world countries could try to carefully assimilate in their daily ways of life.

The Calmness. No one could be seen or heard in some sort of chest beating tantrums and wild grief or even blaming the government and the authorities. It seemed that their level of sorrow was elevated and all that could be observed were people shedding tears in solemn silence.

The Dignity. Everybody is disciplined in their long queues for water and food. The rough words and crude gestures seemed absent in the duration of their wait for each turn. Surely, the period of waiting was much shorter since everybody was behaved.

The Ability. Most of the tall buildings exemplified good and well crafted and prepared architectural designs. They swayed as the earthquake tremors but withstood their grounds. A whole length of highway seemed impassable but was rebuilt in six days.

The Grace. People bought only what they needed at present so that everybody could get something. Nobody was reported stocking up for future needs or even hoarding supplies of basic goods for business gain.

The Order. There was no looting in shops, no prolonged and repeated honking of horns and no unnecessary overtaking on the road but just plain understanding of the situations they were in. There was no one supervising the shops and manning the traffic.

The Sacrifice. Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the nuclear reactors. There is greater percentage of getting exposed to possible nuclear fallout but they chose to work to save millions of lives. They may not be compensated at all.

The Tenderness. The restaurants and other eating places cut their prices. An unguarded ATM was left alone. The strong and able cared for the weak and disable.

The Training. The old, the children and everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to do and did just that. There was no script or written rules for doing exactly what they were expected to, but the preciseness of their actions seemed to be coming from their minds and hearts.

The Media. They showed magnificent restrains in their news bulletins. There was no silly reporter who showed through excessive actions and words the gravity of the situation, but more professional and calm reportage.

The Conscience. The power in a store went off and the people inside just put back on the shelves the goods they were supposed to buy and left quietly.

In highlighting these very commendable characteristics for everybody to know, I do not recommend to the whole world to copy exactly the Japanese way of life. I only believe that what are good and proper behaviour should be practiced and something that we should never be ashamed to do anytime and anywhere.
